A.I.R Gallery Program
Students visit local DUMBO gallery and conduct hands on art projects with artist exhibiting at the gallery
St. Ann’s Warehouse Theatrical Program
The St. Ann’s partnership allows Dock Street students to participate in workshops at St. Ann’s Warehouse. Dock Street students also have the opportunity to attend performances at St. Ann’s Warehouse and go backstage.
Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy
The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s education program offers a variety of classes free for Dock Street students.
To improve chess skills and prepare to compete in tournaments representing The Dock Street School. As an academic pursuit, chess rewards nontraditional learners as well as traditional ones. In particular, chess is three-dimensional and interactive, and thus supportive of those types of learners. The game is also an authentic pursuit which is a prerequisite for deep, meaningful learning.
Child Mind Institute Program
CMI also provides a free on-site small-group program that builds coping-skills and partners with Dock Street to offer free on-site trauma treatment at Dock Street School for our students. The resilience-building is designed for students to learn the best ways to navigate trauma and build resilience.
Parent Workshop and staff professional development
Consortium for Research and Robotics STEM Program at Brooklyn Navy Yard
A summer camp and after-school focuses on STEM technology, architecture, and fabrication. Through hands-on activities, students engage mathematics, software, technology, and robotics to problem solve, create and learn.
Partner with New York City Urban Debate League and Brooklyn Tech Debate to engage students in the rigorous testing of ideas through debate. Students learn about the processes and underlying structures of policy making and gain depth knowledge of literature and new branches of philosophical thought through reading, activism, and practical implementation
of the literature in debate rounds. This knowledge will allow our scholars to become better informed and more active members of our communities.
Flocabulary Community School Partner
The program establishes mutually beneficial relationships between Dock Street and Flocabulary. As a partner, we receive school-wide Flocabulary subscription, visits to office for career labs and Flocab’s time and resources to support a priority initiative or community event hosted by Dock Street.
Girls on The Run
Girls on The Run is a running based youth development program for Dock Street middle school girls. The curriculum coaches and considers the whole girl-body, brain, heart, spirit and social connection in a positive, structured space while preparing for a celebratory Girls on the Run 5k event at the end of the program
Students work with DUMBO’s award-winning kids coding app professionals and conduct beta testing.
The non profit Leadership Program works with our sixth grade students on different areas such as diversity, communication, role modeling, goal setting and team building.
Memorial Sloan Kettering
Science Education Outreach: Cancer Biology Focus that create opportunities for scientists to engage our scholars with hands on projects and experiments and discuss concepts of cancer biology.
A standards-based partnership program designed to improve students’ understanding of scientific inquiry. Includes collaborations between urban public-school systems and science and cultural institutions such as zoos, botanical gardens, museums and science centers.
Our Saturday Academy is a free, extra session of schooling for students of all three grades. This program focuses on building and strengthening reading and mathematical skills along with the strategies essential to academic advancement.
Basketball, Flag football, fitness club, wrestling, self-defense classes, and soccer.
Stuy Prep SHSAT Program
Students participate in the distinguished test preparation program for Specialized High School Admission Test Program at Stuyvesant High School.
