I am excited and humbled to be appointed as the Principal of the Dock Street School for STEAM Studies, and to work with our highly qualified and dedicated staff. I come to you with 12 years of experience in the classroom, designing curricula, and supporting teachers, students, and families in our beloved District 13. I would like to reassure you that the 2021-2022 school year will continue to be a great year of teaching, learning, and building positive relationships. It is my belief that a quality education allows students to improve their quality of life and the quality of life of others around them.
To that end, my leadership values which strongly aligns with the founding principles of the Dock Street School are grounded in high expectations for all, providing students with authentic learning experiences, and building strong relationships among all stakeholders. These are the principles that will continue to guide our pursuit of excellence and ensure all students are provided with a quality education that enables them to act responsibly and compassionately within their communities.
Together, we are paving a path forward established on our collective belief in student voice, rigor, and respect and excellence for all. Our future is bright, and with our strong vision of students as active agents in their learning we, the Dock Street School for STEAM Studies will continue to create a rigorous and nurturing college-preparatory Grades 6-8 school that is highly regarded for its students’ academic excellence and personal growth, and its emphasis on science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics.
As a community, we will continue to form lasting professional relationships built on respect and trust that fosters a safe and inclusive learning environment for all members of the Dock Street School community to grow professionally, academically, and personally.
